Caowa Fair in Linshu County, hailed as the "Millennium Market," opens every fourth and ninth day of the lunar month. Spanning 170 acres with over 2,000 stalls stretching two kilometers, it transforms into the most vibrant living museum of folk culture in southern Shandong. Remarkably, the bustling crowds include not only local villagers but also visitors who travel from neighboring provinces like Jiangsu and Anhui, all drawn to this immersive celebration of New Year traditions.

In the air, the crispy aroma of fried buns, the rich scent of mutton soup, and the sweet, sticky steam of glutinous rice cakes mingle and spread, weaving together the most enticing local flavors. Here, the half a yuan fried bun is as treasured as the 1,400-year-old Liu weaving craft of Linshu; the lively haggling in the crowd is as captivating as the resounding beat of gongs, drums, and strings from the open-air opera stage.
