Gourd pyrography, traditionally known as fire-drawn gourds or fire-brush painted gourds, is a distinctive form of traditional craft artwork. This technique—a three-dimensional art form derived from Chinese gourd culture—originally employed heated iron wires and incense sticks to create designs on gourd surfaces. Today, artisans primarily use specialized electric pyrography pens to produce intricate patterns through controlled carbonization. The art form is now predominantly practiced in Pingyi County, Shandong Province.
