Annual Conference of UNESCO Global Geoparks in China of 2023 held in Yimengshan UGGp

The Annual Conference of UNESCO Global Geoparks in China of 2023 was held in Yimengshan UGGp Linyi, Shandong from October 30th to November 2nd. This annual meeting is guided by the Department of Protected Area Management of National Forestry and Grassland Administration and Department of Natural Resources of Shandong Province, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Chinese Geoparks Network, the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) , and Linyi Municipal People's Government, and organized by Yimengshan Global Geopark Bureau, Pingyi County People's Government, and Mengyin County People's Government.

The conference attracted more than 140 guests, including representatives of 50 geological parks, leaders of competent departments, and experts and scholars from 24 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The conference was the first major one held after three-year epidemic in China, during which many geoparks showed their new achievements in management and development.

    The next annual conference will be held in Xingyi National Geopark Guizhou.
