In order to carry forward traditional culture, add a festive atmosphere, celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu in Chinese), enrich the spiritual and cultural life of cadres and workers, and better serve the high-quality development of various undertakings, Yimengshan Global Geopark Administration held the theme activity of “Duanwu: an affectionate festival to inherit civilization” on June 21, with more than 100 cadres and employees participating in the whole bureau.
At the beginning of the activity, under the leadership of the host, everyone learned about the origin and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival and actively participated in the Duanwu knowledge quiz. Duanwu Festival has many customs and bounteous contents: the spirit of Qu Yuan who seeks up and down, the traditional custom of hanging wormwood leaves at the door, the fragrance of Zongzi wrapping sticky rice into a pyramid-shaped dumplings using bamboo or reed leaves in colorful silk, and the inspiring dragon boat race, all of which explain the meaning and traditional culture of the Dragon Boat Festival to the world.
Everyone exchanged and talked about the customs of Duanwu Festival, which was filled with a strong festive cultural atmosphere. With pairs of skillful hands, Zongzi of different shapes were born one after another after a while.
On the day of the event, rice dumplings were sent to lonely elderly people, sending the warmth and care of the party and government to the masses, and passing good wishes and strong love to those in need.
This Dragon Boat Festival theme activity not only created a happy and peaceful cultural atmosphere, but also made employees feel the charm of traditional culture and enhanced the cohesion and centripetal force of the majority.
