Scientific Research Working Group of Administration of Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark and Mengshan Branch of Linyi Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources jointly carry out field geoscience investigation activities on March 3.Deputy Director of Administration of Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark Wang Jian led a team to participate in the activity.
The participants have visited and studied at six geological sites, including the granite geomorphology of Yingwo Peak, the residue of the Tarzan rock group at Guimeng Peak, the pictographs of the group of turtles exploring the sea, the granitic amphibolite rock body at Guimeng Peak, the australopithecine granite veins and the geological structure remains of the small and medium faults of the Mengshan Trail, and popularized the geological knowledge of crustal movement, geological tectonic features and the law of crustal evolution by means of on-site explanation.
During the field research, Dr. Zhang Yingsong from the scientific research group explained in detail the unique geological landscape, topographic features and rich mineral resources of Mengshan Mountain.
The field study opened a page of the geological encyclopedia, Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark, for everyone. The research made everyone learn geological knowledge and improve business ability, and effectively enhance the enthusiasm of scientific research and popularization work.
