On April 27, a specially organized activity—"Expert Training Course for Building Yimengshan Global Geopark" was held by Administration for Yimengshan Geopark. Professor Wu Fadong, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) was invited to join and give lectures.
Li Jingbo, researcher of the Bureau of Land and Resources of the Linyi Municipality; Zhou Dongkai, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Director of the Management Committee, Director of the Administration for Yimengshan Geopark, and Li Weidong, Deputy Magistrate of the People's Government of Mengyin County attended the training event. This training strengthened the capacity building of geopark employees and enables them to have a more profound understanding of their work, and generally establish a sense of inspection.
Besides the training course, the experts went to the Geopark to conduct a field trip: visited the Yimengshan Geopark Museum, the diamond exhibition hall, the visitor service center, the art performances, the hardware and software construction and examined the protection of the main geosites in Yimengshan Geopark. During the inspection, experts exchanged their idea and discussions in the following aspects: the visibility, the construction of the sign system, the science popularization and scientific research, community participation, and the formulation of the reception plan in Yimengshan Geopark.
