Yimengshan Geopark Carried out Geoscience Popularization Activities

On Mar 29 and 30, 2018 , Yimengshan Geopark Carried out Geoscience Popularization Activities in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Nanjing University respectively and got great feedback.

Professor Wang Zhaobo firstly introduced the comprehensive situation of Yimengshan geopark to students and then explained the georesources of the park. He mainly explained the formation mechanism of turtle-shaped stone in Yimengshan Geopark, and demonstrated the profound influence of turtle-shaped stone on the ancient culture and Taoism culture, which is a vivid example of the interaction and combination of geology and culture. After the lecture, he interacted with the students and answered their questions.

In addition, Yimengshan Geopark presented popular science books, souvenirs and promotional materials as gifts. These activities are parts of the science popularization plan of Yimengshan Geopark. Yimengshan Geopark will carry out more activities to popularize geoscience.
